High Impact Livelihood Enhancement Project, Maharashtra
The project was initiated based on a Government Resolution, and an MoU signed between BRLF and Shabari Adivasi Vitta and Vikas Mahamandal, Nasik. The specific objectives of the project include augmenting land and water resources, introducing improved and sustainable agriculture practices, enhancing livestock productivity, promoting non-pesticide-based agriculture practices, establishing a profitable value chain for Non-Timber Forest Produce (NTFP), and empowering Gram Sabhas/PRIs for better village development processes.

This project was implemented in 200 villages of 72 Gram Panchayats of 7 blocks of 5 districts of the Maharashtra state,
Impact
Under this thematic intervention, 398 water harvesting structures were constructed through MNREGA and other agencies. This resulted in the irrigation of 2605.5 hectares of land, reduced soil erosion, and improved water levels and moisture content. Financial leverage of Rs. 22.36 crore was achieved through convergence from MNREGA, government departments, and CSR funds.
Vaccination camps were organised in the project location to promote a livestock-based economy, particularly in small ruminants. As a result, approximately 995 cows and goats were vaccinated, and deworming was conducted in the project villages.
