Governments

BRLF was set up by the government of India to scale up civil society initiatives particularly in the tribal regions in partnership with state governments. The relationship between state governments and BRLF is quite instrumental in ensuring the success of public schemes/programs through proper channelization of funds allocated governments, banks, corporate sector, and other philanthropic foundations.

BRLF was formed to leverage a new model of cooperation wherein various state governments may proactively work with CSOs to address the problems of tribal communities in the priority regions. The government of India and the state governments of Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Gujarat are already the partners of Project and Grantee Selection Committee (PGSC) and they have participated in the two PGSC meetings held so far.

BRLF enjoys a very fruitful and collaborative relationship with state governments that provide support in the successful execution of various government programs and schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Swatchh Bharat Mission, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Prime Minister’s Soil Health Card Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Jivan Jyoti Bima Yojana.
